Chrissy Teigen and John Legend : A New Birth Filled with Love and Hope

After a challenging period marked by a miscarriage and the loss of their son Jack, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend experienced a true miracle with the arrival of Esti. However, what few people knew was that the couple had also embarked on a gestational surrogacy journey at that time. In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram on Thursday, June 29, 2023, the former model opened up about their experience and the reasons that led them to choose this option.

“After losing Jack, I thought I would never be able to carry a baby myself again,” wrote Chrissy Teigen. Despite that, they found the courage to pursue an in vitro fertilization process, similar to what they had done for their first two children. “At the beginning of our surrogacy journey, I came out of a therapy session and told John: I want to try carrying just one more time. If it doesn’t work, it’s okay. We have already gone through much worse.” This decision allowed them not to put all their hopes in one basket.

While the baby was on the way with their surrogate, Chrissy Teigen eventually discovered that she was pregnant again after months of medical treatments. After a previous miscarriage, this pregnancy turned out to be successful. Thus, in 2023, the couple had the fortune of welcoming not just one, but two adorable babies. “A few minutes before midnight on June 19, I witnessed the birth of the most beautiful woman, our friend, and our surrogate, in a somewhat chaotic but strength-, joy-, and love-filled environment,” revealed Chrissy Teigen on Instagram. And so, Wren Alexander Stephens came into the world. “Our hearts and our home are overflowing with happiness. Jack, we know that these sweet kisses come from you,” concluded John Legend’s wife before sharing the first images of the already well-haired baby.
