Genesis of Veronica Electronica.

In 1998, Madonna released “Ray of Light,” an album marking a turn towards electronic sounds, produced in collaboration with William Orbit. The success of this record, which won multiple Grammy Awards, overshadowed a parallel project of remixes titled “Veronica Electronica,” which was shelved. Long relegated to rumor status, this project finally sees the light of day 27 years later.

Album Content.

Veronica Electronica includes eight tracks, featuring previously unreleased remixes of iconic “Ray of Light” songs such as “Frozen,” “Skin,” and “The Power of Good-Bye.” Producers involved in this project include William Orbit, Peter Rauhofer, BT, Sasha, and Victor Calderone. A previously unheard demo, “Gone, Gone, Gone,” produced by Madonna and Rick Nowels, also appears on the album.

Meaning of Veronica Electronica.

The title “Veronica Electronica” refers to an alter ego Madonna created during the “Ray of Light” sessions, symbolizing her plunge into electronic music and personal transformation. This project reflects a time of artistic and spiritual metamorphosis for the singer.

The album will be available in digital format and as a limited edition silver vinyl, part of Madonna’s “Silver Collection.” Select editions will include an exclusive lithograph.
